Research Ethics Management System

Important information on using the Ethics Management System.

1. This system is used to apply for Ethical Clearance at Botswana Open University (BOU).
2. A first-time user should create a User Account before using the Ethics Management System.
3. Click on the New User option on the Login Page to create a new User Account.

- Students should enter their valid BOU Student Number which will be used as their User ID when they login to the system.

- Staff, Tutors and Supervisors should enter their valid BOU Employee Number which will be used as their User ID when they login to the system.

- External Members (Non-Citizens) should enter their valid Passport Number as User ID.

- External Members (Citizens) should enter their valid Omang ID as User ID.

4. A BOU student should specify their BOU supervisor email when making an ethical clearance application. Students should verify their BOU supervisor email with their respective supervisor. After sucessful login, click on the Apply option to make an ethical clearance application.

Students are recommended to use the BOU Standard Consent Forms available under Documents section after logging in
